Indonesia and Canada are known for their long coastlines. In the midst of the global climate crisis, Former Canadian Prime Minister, Kim Campbell, brings awareness to the dangers that coastal areas bordering the coast are to be severely impacted, leading to an up-tick in natural disasters. As the sea levels rise, it will cause coastal areas in Indonesia and Canada to submerge.
Campbell, invites the public to continue to criticize their governments policies with until they support those in line with climate action. As Campbell mentions, countries have committed to keeping geothermal heat from exceeding the threshold of 1.5 degrees Celsius . Unfortunately, until now there is no entity above the state that is able to maintain this commitment.
Communities are encouraged to continue asking stakeholders to make climate action policies and respond seriously to this.
